The one rule that matters
No points, discounts, offers, or incentives on Schedule 4 (S4) prescription treatments. Ever.
S4 treatments include anti-wrinkle injections (botulinum toxin), dermal fillers and bio-stimulators, and prescription biologics. For these, the app only ever lets a patient book a consultation. There is no discount, no points earned, no points redeemed, no "save towards your injectables", and no bundles.
What you can reward
Loyalty and rewards apply to everything that is not a prescription treatment:
- Skincare and retail products
- Facials, peels, skin needling, LED, energy and laser devices (ARTG-approved)
- Consultations and skin analysis
- Memberships and membership perks
So a member can earn points on a facial or a retail purchase, redeem them from your rewards library, and enjoy member recognition and priority booking. None of that benefit can be used on injectables.
Why this protects you
The rules exist because prescription treatments cannot be advertised to the public with prices, discounts or inducements, and testimonials about them are not allowed. Your app is a closed space for your existing patients (they log in), and it keeps every reward on the right side of the line. You get all the upside of loyalty, with none of the compliance risk.
Before you set up any reward or offer, ask: does this give a patient a discount or incentive on a prescription injectable? If yes, do not do it. If it only touches skincare, retail, devices, consults or membership perks, you are good.
